Theo, His Cousin Bryson & Theo's New News!!

Another highlight of Theo's birthday was a visit from his Aunt Lisa (Eric's sister) and cousin, Bryson. Theo and Bryson are starting to notice each other and even seemed slightly amused together. I have a feeling as time goes on, these two will become partners in crime when together. There's something slightly mischievous about both of them....I can see them being two little pranksters when they get together as they get older!
There is another highlight of Theo's birthday week that I feel deserves some serious praise. He started sleeping through the night. Theo has been a terrible sleeper since he was 6 months old. At that time, I went back to work full time and ever since, he's held out for night feedings~at least two to four feedings from 12am-7am. This schedule has run the gamut on my whole being~emotionally and physically. My work days are roughly ten hours from when I leave the house until I get back and to pull these days on top of no sleep has made me part crazy lady! I know some of you might be wondering (as did our pediatrician) why I didn't put the kibosh (where are my spelling guru's?) on our crazy set up earlier. The truth~I've never felt good about making Theo have bottles of pumped breast milk only and it was just easier to nurse him, sleeping next to me throughout the night. Cutting nursing/pumping entirely was never an option for me (more to come on this topic).
I am just now reading (after resisting since Theo was a week old) Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. Some of it really freaks me out and some of it I've really learned from. I've tried a few tricks from the book and they may be partly responsible for this new glorious sleeping one year old we have. Whatever magic has happened, we are now ten nights into a full nights' sleep!

Oh holy shit! That is fantastic! Yay Theo. See it is all true...phases. I can't wait for my bug to start sleeping through the night again. She has actually been asleep for 4 1/2 hours right now and I am wondering why I am not horizontal...I am so happy for you. That must feel so fabulous. Much love.
